Frequently Asked Questions

What times can I pick-up or drop-off my dog?

For daycare, you can drop-off your dog from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM, Monday through Friday. For Saturday, the drop-off time is 9:00 AM through 11:00 AM. Dogs that are picked up before 1:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, will be charged for 1/2 day. There is no daycare on Sunday.

For boarding, we recommend that you drop off your dog between 10AM and 3PM Monday through Friday. By avoiding our busy daycare drop off and pickup times, your check-in will go quicker. On Saturday and Sunday, you may check-in anytime during regular business hours. By dropping your dog off earlier in the day, it gives your dog an opportunity to get to know his playmates before dinner time.

What do I need to bring when I drop my dog off for boarding?

If you haven’t already registered your dog with us, please bring the completed dog registration form with you. We also require proof of vaccinations. Please read our Policy page for vaccination details and other boarding information.

Each owner brings different things for their dog to make them comfortable during their stay. If you would like your dog to receive his normal food, be sure to bring it with you. We will feed your dog according to its normal diet to avoid GI upset. There is no need to pack your dog’s bowl for its stay at Camp K-9 – we use our own bowls and wash them after every feeding.

You may pickup your boarded dogs anytime during normal business hours, any day of the week.

Can I come by and see your facility?

Yes you can! You can come by anytime during our normal business hours, Monday through Saturday; however, please avoid the day care drop off and pickup times. You do not need an appointment to come by for a tour, but we do request that you call us ahead of time, in case someone else has already made an appointment. Please do not bring your dog along with you unless you have verified it with a member of our training staff. We like to make sure that all dogs who enter Camp K-9 doors are up-to-date on their vaccinations and that you, the owner, have had a chance to read over our policies and fill out the required forms.

What do I need to do to sign my dog up for daycare?

The first thing we will ask you to do is read over our policies and complete our dog registration form. Next, your dog will need to have a temperament screening. Temperament screening can be pre-scheduled or we can assess your dog during the first day of daycare. Remember, we will need to have proof of your dog’s vaccination records before the screening.

Pennsylvania requires that all dogs, 3 months of age or older, have a valid license. Camp K-9 will accept dogs for daycare without a license; however, the state does conduct periodic license checks at all daycare facilities. If your dog does not have a valid license on file, you may be fined by the dog warden. Camp K-9 is registered by the state to sell annual licenses. Lifetime licenses are also available, but only at the County Treasurer’s office. More information can be found on Chester County’s dog license webpage.

Are the dogs inside or outside? What happens when it rains or snows?

Camp K-9 includes both indoor and outdoor play areas. Our large indoor playrooms – complete with controlled heating and air conditioning to cater to all seasons. Daily jaunts outdoors to our enclosed play areas ensure that your dog gets plenty of fresh air and exercise. Dogs are taken outdoors in all types of weather, unless you request otherwise. However, all dogs are kept inside on “Code Red” days in the summer or in case of lightning.
